Drawing can be a silent act, and the forms I draw ignite a conversation. The shapes aren’t loud or aggressive, rather vulnerable, quiet and strong. Mark making with pace represents something unlaboured, natural, the opposite to the complete, over edited form.
Playing with the ideas of womanhood and finding that element of play within the stereotype is critical. An unclothed body is a body without social norms and boundaries. When we strip it all bare, and all our walls are exposed – what is left, what lingers - I draw that.
